3rd Trimester

33+ weeks, still trying to get the babies room done!

Getting my husband to see the urgency is not an easy task. He lost his "office" to the baby so I'm sure that was hard but we moved him out of the room nearly 2 weeks ago. Last weekend his "office" looked like this:Baby's Room #2

This was after I had begged him to move stuff out of the room, then finally this past weekend he got more stuff out and then tonight I had to keep on his ass to get it to this state:Final cleaning progress?

So then I put together the side table (still need DH to put together the main dresser, I can't do it) and I made the right hand side of the room feel a bit more baby-ish:

Still need to paint the walls a pale blue, replace the carpeting and replace the window treatments. I'm 33.5 weeks along now and he seems to think it's not big deal, I'm LIKE OMG FREAK OUT. I'm not actually freaking out but I'm really sad more isn't done. I still have to hassle him tomorrow to pick up all those cords and move the wireless router out of the room and then to put together the dresser. I do feel bad some because I have to have him do this stuff often (we had to clean out the garage in order to clean out his office, it looks so kick ass now compared to how it was) but at the same time it's like okay, I need the babies room at-least 80% finished. Right now I would say it's 50% because of how much I had to hassle him to do anything (I can't move stuff, we've waited too long into my pregnancy) but in reality I would say it's only 25% done as far as what needs to be done to make it ready for baby. It's going to be hard for me to work on this stuff so late in the pregnancy, including what energy gets sucked up on my toddler.

  • 37 tomorrow and not done either.
  • yeah i have had some freak outs over this myself.  we finally moved the guest room stuff to storage, but now I have to clean out the office closet so my husband can move his clothing in there (we don't have a very big master closet), and well then we have to get going with the baby's room.  It makes me crazy.

  • you have made more progress then us.  Only thing we have done is the crib is together and the bedding is on it.  We need to get a new frame for the full size mattress, restain the rocker, get a dresser, bookshelf and decorate!!
  • just started sunday... and i still need most of the furniture
  • Try not to panic. I'm almost 34 weeks and our room just finally started looking babyish this past weekend. I was surprised how quickly it came together once we got things rolling.

  • Don't feel bad, ours still isn't done either!! My DH decided to change all the trim in our house 2 weeks before the carpets were going in, he is still in the process of painting everything white.  UGH!!! I could scream! And, he's not even done the upstairs yet.  Hence, new carpet is only finished in the other 2 bedrooms and hall. Still have to rip up carpet in MB, paint the trim, then install carpet in there and down the stairs.  it is soooo frustrating!!

Now, all of our furniture is in baby's room and computer room.  Better get moved out tonight so we can move the baby's furniture upstairs so I can start to get organized.  Hopefully our lil guy decides to come closer to his due date and not early!

    Sorry for the long rant!

  • My DH only cleared out the stuff from our "office" last weekend. And it's not completely done... there is stuff in the closet that has to get out. But he finally painted (it may need one more coat) and we're going to have the carpets professionally cleaned before the furniture is ordered.

Yes, I haven't ordered furniture yet and I'm 33 weeks today.

So don't feel bad... your baby will have a place to sleep. All will be OK.

If my nursery isn't finished before I give birth, the baby will sleep in the pack-n-play. It'll work out.

  • wow I feel much better ladies, i thought i would be the only one so far behind (or one of the few). I went on land of nod today and ordered a cute bird curtain rod and some sweet wooden flower wall hooks. I want to get the room painted so bad so i can see how things will "look" and decorate properly and pick out curtains!
