My MIL gave us a turkey the other day, and I am going to attempt to make it tomorrow. (Random I know, but oh so yummy)
I'm a pretty decent cook, but I am lost on this one.
Turkey is about 10-12lbs, I am going to cook it in a roaster oven.
I don't know temp or cooking time, should anything go in the pan with the turkey?
Any tips?
Re: Totally random. Does anyone know how to cook a turkey?

"DH-cook me a turkey!" LOL!
I usually plan on cooking it and DH takes over. But we have a turkey roaster so it's pretty easy. I put a little butter under the skin and he puts it in the roaster and sets it and bam we have turkey. Sorry, I don't know the time/temp of cooking a turkey.
LOL
Yes, it's thawed. I googled too, I was looking to see if anyone has tips from experience! That's an interesting idea Isela, we might have dark beer too.

Search: Bourbon Turkey.
It's the best recipe ever, it doesnt take too too long to cook, and makes it very moist.
The bourbon is ok, because the alcohol cooks off in the oven.
this gives me a moist turkey with crispy golden skin. ?It is so good! ?Basically you cover the turkey in cheesecloth that has been soaked in white wine and butter and then you baste it a LOT.
