Lovenox/Heparin people come in (DC mentioned and PIP)

We had 3 CPs over the course of 1 fresh IVF and 3 FETs. My successful cycle was my 2nd fresh and 1st cycle with Lovenox. We started the Lovenox on the day of transfer because it is thought that I had some sort of undiagnosed clotting issue that was causing problems right at implantation. Now that we're trying for #2, and Lovenox seemed to do the trick, I want to start taking it while we try naturally for a few months before we go back to a FET. When I first proposed this to the high-risk guy, he said he didn't want me on it uneccessarily and to call when I got a BFP. Well...I almost said something, but decided to give it a shot. Its 4 cycles later and no BFP, big surprise. I called today to remind this guy that we did start Lovenox at transfer for the reasons mentioned above, and it makes more sense for me to start it on a natural cycle, mid-cycle when I start to notice signs of fertility. By the time I get a BFP, my beta is already low. He said this was "unprecidented" and would have to call me back after giving it some thought. What do you think? He didn't call me back tonight, so I'm expecting a call tomorrow.

  • I started lovenox with my BFP.  With my first pregnancy I started spotting and bleeding with clots very shortly after my BFP.  My RE didn't put me on it until I got a positive beta.  I do have two diagnosed blood clotting disorders and this was the protocol from my RE.

With my CPs, I never even got that far along. I would get a beta in the tens or low hundreds that would slowly go down.
