Follow Up to St. Louis Location recs

Thanks ladies, I read the responses today.  I will be working very close to the airport but I'm from Chicago and my current commute is an hour and a half! Yikes I know but I'm used to that so if I can get it under an hour, that would feel like heaven!

That being said, I'd like a single family, yard is a must with the little one.  I'm a city girl who lives in the burbs so if I can get close to the city by car but also have a quieter neighborhood to raise the boy.  Any recs on school districts? What are average daycare costs?

Anything that remotely looks like farm area is not going to fly with my DH.  I see allot of people mentioned living in Illinois.  I will put that down as a selling point for my DH, "Honey, we are still in Illinois?!?"

  • I agree with Lindsey... I have my thoughts but would rather not post them on the message board, kwim?

email me at mkimr@hotmail.com and I'll give you my two cents.

  • I would not live in IL if you are working near the airport.  The IL to MO commute (and v/v) was always terrible when I lived there.  And IMHO, there are a lot nice places in MO than what I know about in IL.  IL is cheaper, yes.  But I think MO is much nicer.  I will let others give you specifics but I would avoid IL like the plague.
