DD has been fighting her afternoon nap almost every day the past week or so, and when she finally falls asleep she'll only stay asleep for usually 45 minutes. Her morning naps have also gotten longer (she now naps usually 1 1/2 hours instead of 1 hour, and today she's been asleep for over 2 hours!). She's never been a good napper - a good day was two 1 to 1 1/4 hour naps, and now I'm not sure what's going on! Is this a phase or is it about time to go to 1 nap? If so, how long is a 1-a-day nap usually?
Re: When do they drop down to 1 nap?
DS dropped to 1 nap at 10 months. He typically naps for 2-3 hours a day. He also started fighting his afternoon nap and often wouldn't take it. So, I just dropped it for him.
It's better if they drop the morning nap though, so you'll want to move the morning nap to mid-day--otherwise you'll have a cranky kid by late afternoon!
