I was thinking of placing a Diapers.com order and having it shipped directly to my Disney hotel ( they mentioned this was an option when I made the reservation). Does that seem like it's worth it? I figure it's free shipping and they'll even ship jarred baby food, heavy diapers, etc...
Better than paying for a cab to run to the supermarket? Has anyone ever done this?
Also, any suggestions of what to pack (I am sure I'm forgetting something!)
diapers, wipes, swim diapers, baby food, sippy cup, teething ring, dish detergent, puffs...
Re: Traveling to Disney w/ 9month old...
I used a company called Baby's Best Friend (google it) for our trip to Disney. They are in the Orlando area and deliver clean, safe baby products to your hotel for you so you do not have to bring anything (if you don't want) and you just pick it up at Bell services when you arrive and leave it there when you are done. I had a stroller and play yard delivered- and I was SO happy with everything. The stuff was in great shape and clean. I used the stroller every day for naps by the pool and it was so much easier than lugging a huge stroller through the airport (used umbrella stroller in airport, but doesn't work for naps). I don't think they do diapers and food- so the other service you mention would probably work great for you too. I did have a rental car- so we went to the supermarket off property to get food and diapers- and actually- the Walgreens off property had a huggies sale and I got buy one get one free when I got there- so that was very lucky and inexpensive for me.
Also, I brought both wipes for butts and clean and go wipes for everything else I wanted to clean off... Have fun!
That sounds like a great idea. I would also add sunscreen and a wide-brimmed hat. We had DS in one practically the hole time we were there. Also, I packed regular shirts, but DS lived in his rashgurad when we were down there. It has 50 spf built in and wicked away moisture much better than his cotton t's
We had a great time. DS wasn't really into any rides, but was very content being pushed around and watching all the people. Have a great time!
Love the BCV, we are going to stay there in November. Can't wait.
Anyway, there are other options for groceries and stuff at Disney. Here are two links that I found on some Disney-related boards:
www.abbf.com - this is more for baby equipment and stuff.
www.gardengrocer.com - grocery delivery
Also, I am a DVC member- and just so you know- just because you BUY your points at another resort doesn't mean you have to stay there- you can use your points every year at Beach Club if you want. They are selling points right now for the new contemporary resort vacation club- you should look into it while you are down there (or your parents should) it would end up saving them a ton of money if they go every year.
And if you are in a villa- you may want to get the play yard like I did to keep LO contained in a room that isn't baby proof- so you can put him down and walk away- that worked great in our villa at Saratoga Springs
Awesome!! Yeah my parents bought in 2002 and we're so happy we have the beach club as our home resort. They did actually just buy more points there which you can do if people sell theirs. They can still buy beach club they would just have to buy a "used" one that someone is selling so it wouldn't have all 40 years but still a decent amount.
Have a great time as I'm sure you will!!
Yes- this is it- A Baby's Best Friend!! Excellent.
Also, we "toured" the new Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas (that I think are still for sale) and they were gorgeous and if your parents like Beach Club for the pool areas they may be interested in the Animal Kingdom Villas- I do believe with DS now Animal Kingdom is going to become our favorite place to stay. The new pool area and kids area is supposed to be amazing- and the pool at Animal Kingdom that is there now is also great already.
