Anyone Else Angering Easily? (A Little NBR...Very Long Rant...)

I completely lost it this morning and I feel a little bad, so want to hear if anyone else is having "angry" outbursts, in addition to just being weepy at times?  I'm SO happy to be pregnant!  But man, the smallest stuff is getting to me.

We have horrible next door neighbors (Don't mow their lawn, leave their trash cans out for days after garbage day, have three dogs in their backyard that bark constantly), etc.  We have a dog that we keep in the backyard while we are at work in our large, fenced-in yard.  Yesterday morning while I'm getting ready to leave for work and have just put our dog out back (she's not yet neutered...not old enough, we have to wait another month), this huge wolf-looking dog comes into our backyard.

I freak out...anyway, realize that their dog has dug under the fence and into our yard.  I go over, wake them up tell them to come get their dog.  She does... we each put dirt into the hole on each side of our house, etc. This kills a lot of time in the morning, makes me late for work, makes it so I can't get the stuff done in the mornings that I normally do, etc.

So then this morning, it happens AGAIN.  Same thing happens, I tell her to come get her dog, she gets him, she's laughing about the whole thing, like, "Oh, silly doggy!" and talking all cutesie to him.  (Makes me want to hit her...)  I then am leaving the house... with wet hair as I now don't have time to do style my hair and makeup that is wretched from my little freak-out cry session.  I glance out back...and her dog is back there AGAIN.  I freak out, call our dog inside.  When I do this, her big wolf dog runs past me and into our house.  He tracks mud all over our carpet.  DH is standing in the hall in his boxers, just out of the shower, like, "WTF?"  Then I notice the neighbor lady is in our back yard (I ring their bell when her dogs are in our yard...and she just freaking walks into our backyard?!)  Can't get her dog out of our house and he's got mud all over our NEW, light-colored carpet...I ask her to come into our house to get him.  She's still laughing about the whole thing and finally takes her dog out.

Seriously, this whole thing took an hour from my morning.  And DH goes, "Honey, they're just dogs."

Ugh!  I'm pissed off!  I know I'm hormonal... please make me feel like I'm not just a huge bit*h by telling me some of your angry stories?

  • It's normal, and yes, being annoyed is a normal response.

I have been super easily irritated for the past three or four weeks.  Thankfully I haven't hit meltdown mode yet.  :)

  • I would have been livid about this PRE pregnancy!!! One time is fine... but more than that and I'd be super annoyed... is their dog neutered??? You may have wolf puppies... hehe

I got super mad in walmart the other day because a lady (with 4 wild kids) was letting them run all over the place and they were on my last nerve!! Doesn't help that I'm a teacher, and know that if they were my students they would be in BIG trouble for that behavior... sometimes you just want to say to the parents WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?????? HELLOOOOO!!!

  • I know!  I can't stand it when people let their kids (or their pets..ha-ha!) run wild.  What is WRONG with them?

No! Their dog is not neutered!  So my poor Lucy could be getting knocked up, as we speak!  I have no control over this situation!  And I am so not willing to deal with a pregnant puppy...

  • I'd be pissed too!

  • My ex is a total douchebag. (Abusive cokehead. Nice, right?)

Everytime he says/does something that would normally slightly irritate me I just don't hold my tongue. I lash out at him and tell him EXACTLY what I think. It makes me feel better. And, I figure, he beat me for 5 years, so he deserves it. Not exactly mature, but it helps!

I can give you his phone number, if you want....

  • I would have been pissed even if I wasn't pregnant. I have been extra snippy lately and I don't have much tolerance for DH when he is being annoying especially at night.

  • WOW, I would have FLIPPED out if I were you!  Now AND PRE pregnancy!  The cops would have had to been called for sure!  If not by me, by someone!

Wow....  good luck with that one!

  • i agree that i would be really mad about this too. i have 2 dogs that stay in our backyard when we're at work and they are my babies!

when i read your story i thought of a judge judy i saw where it was the same as your situation except when the dog came over it attacked the smaller dog. i hope this doesn't happen to your dog obviously but judge judy held them 50/50 responsible b/c both parties knew it was happening and should've taken action by not only putting the dirt back but also by blocking it w/bricks or something to prevent it from happening over and over again. especially if those people are lazy you have to protect your own dog (and carpet!).

  • Aegrimm... yeah, please give me his number. :P

I have put dirt back in where the dog digs (everytime) as well as cinder blocks and pavers.... my yard looks awful but thought it would help.  It doesn't seem to help.  The lady offered to get chicken wire but obviously hasn't yet done that.  She needs to put chicken wire on her side of the fence.

I figured out what I'm going to do... if this happens again tomorrow (or later today...) I am going to tell her, "Look, you need to handle this... I am not going to put out the money and time necessary to barricade your dog from coming into our yard on MY side of the fence considering it is your dog who is having the digging problem.  If it were my dog, I wouldn't expect you to be the one to remedy it.  You need to fix this right now because the next time your dog gets into my yard, I am going to call animal control and hold your dog here until they come to apprehend him."

    Is that too harsh?

No! Do it! Obviously SHE can't control her dog, so call someone who can!

  • Yay!!! lol

The thought of revenge is making me gleeful.  This is sick...

  • Pregnant or not, I would be PISSED.  I would have laid in to the neighbor and asked when she would be over the clean my carpets.  That is ridiculous.

  • I'd say it's time to quit calling the neighbor over, and call the police to come pick up this dog in your yard. Even if you know who it belongs to. The police (I assume) will talk to your neighbors and probably end up giving them a ticket for like Dog At Large or something like that. Maybe that'll help.

Otherwise, you might think about bringing up the possibility of rebuilding the fence w/ your neighbors. Since you share the fence the cost should be split. Plus then you could build a better fence that the dog wouldn't be able to dig under. Just an idea.

  • I would be super pissed too and it has nothing to do with being pg.

That said, no that I am KU my patience is even thinner than it was before...frustrating for sure.  I almost threw my printer out the window this morning because it wasn't cooperating!  ARG!

  • I have been super irritable lately, which makes me more irritable because I hate feeling so irritable!

I am bubbling over with mommy rage. ?Ask DH about that... I haven't seen him since I screamed at him last night with a houseful of out of town guests... and he slept on the sofa. ?
