Success after IF

Itchy Scalp / Psoriasis ?

I have been dealing with patches of psoriasis for years, but never did the rx route, it was not that bad. It just flares up pretty bad on my foot and scalp when I'm stressed. (ah, check)

I've been using T-Gel, but wondering if you know anything that works better for severe scalp itch? ? I'm crawling out of my skin these days.

Thanks!

  • I think most of the treatments are probably rx, so if you dont want that, maybe try some of the UV light stuff? tough on the scalp b/c of your hair but I think they make some kind of comb thing too. Not sure how much that would cost or even where to get it.?

    GL!!?

  • I have sebopsoriasis.  It's a combo of seboraic (sp?) dermatitis and psoriasis and it's a total b*itch!  I ended up going to a dermatologist a couple of years ago and he has me on shampoo and a night time leave on treatment.  I was also using a foam that worked well, but can't use that while pregnant.  The shampoo is called Clobex and the leave on treatment is called Derma Smooth.  Both have helped a lot, but it doesn't totally go away.  I HATE IT!!  I have never found anything over the counter that really did the trick.  You may want to try Nioxin though.  That worked pretty well.

  • At one time I had a prescription shampoo which I would rub into my scalp about five minutes before getting in the shower and then once in the shower I would lather and rinse.  It worked pretty well.  I remember my dermatologist saying that I could also use the Head and Shoulders type that comes in the blue bottle (I think it's called intensive) and the shampoo is orange in color. The active ingredient is selenium sulfide. So, now whenever it returns I just use that instead of getting a prescription.  Oh, and he said that I could use it anywhere on my body so although it seems strange to be slathering shampoo onto your foot it certainly couldn't hurt to try.

  • my husband has BAD psoriasis and takes the shots.  They work WONDERFUL but of course you are no where near that haha.  Anyways he always was told to switch up the shampoos he uses bc your body gets use to them.  So maybe try a new brand?  GL!

  • I have itchy scalp, but just deal....gets really drs with stess or in winter.

have you thought of doing acupunture (for all of that and for stronger ovulation)

edit:  I know you said you considered it before...but this can be from stress....which acupuncture can help too.  It really helps my anxiety.

  • I have psoriasis really bad and I use Denorex shampoo. It's usually in a green bottle and just to warn you it stings really bad if you get it in your eye.
