bad dreams, gas, or 4 month wakeful?

for the last week hadley has been waking up crying several times a night.  sometimes we can get her to go back to sleep just by giving her the paci, but other times, like tonight, she needs to be rocked back to sleep.  i can't figure out what is going on with her since this is definitely not her normal pattern.

any ideas?

  • Do you have any luck with gripe water?  If it's gas, that might help.

  • Ok, this is just weird, Abby just woke up crying for the first time in I cant remember how long (well, once when her pajamas were too short and she couldnt stretch).  She NEVER wakes up crying.  She saves it all for the day!  LOL

I thought it was bc the dr. told us to stop her old med and start this new one.  Moron me forgot to pick up her new prescription so we gave in and gave her her old one(for reflux)

You have me thinking it might be 4 months wakeful though since hadley and abby are about the same age...

  • Could be any of the above. ?Sorry, I don't have any suggestions.
  • Casey has been waking up like this the past 2 weeks. ?I think it's just the weird 4 month thang. ?ugh. ?it sucks especially since I just started back to work on monday :(

  • I hate, hate, hate when Kaitlyn wakes up screaming because of gas...and then it rips out of her and I almost think it seriously ripped her a new anus.  Gripe water does not work for us, and mylicon drops are just so/so.  I hope Hadley sleeps a bit more for you.

  • Might be 4 month wakeful.  DS would do this during naps and would scream and cry when I put him down for a nap.
  • E started doing that right before she turned 4 months. I thought it might be the 4 month wakeful period too but turned out she was done being swaddled. She would wake herself up because she was trying to get her arms out and that pissed her off. After a few days we realized that was what is was and stopped swaddling her. So far so good (knock on woodSmile)
  • p.s. New siggy = ADORABLE!
  • I am of no help since my child doesn't sleep - but I'm hoping you get her back to her normal pattern soon.
