Hi, ladies!
Congratulations on your new baby and welcome to the 0-6 board!
The differences between a newborn and a 4-5 month old baby are vast, as you will soon learn. We have put together a few FAQs for your benefit. Please read the list thoroughly and feel free to add to it.
First, keep in mind, GOOGLE IS STILL YOUR FRIEND.
Second, if you have a question or concern, please call your doctor. We do not have MDs and will often advise you to speak with your own doctor.
You can also learn a lot from these sites:
A couple of things to remember before posting:
Please make sure to include your baby?s age in your posts if you are lacking a ticker. This is a fast moving board, especially during the day. If you find that no one answers your post, don?t take it personally, we probably don?t have any experience with what you?re asking.
Some baby items that are often used by fellow bumpies (in no particular order):
Bumbo or BebePod
Sophie the Giraffe teether
Moby wrap, BabyHawk or sling
Pacifier clips
Boppy or BreastFriend pillow
Mylicon
Aquaphor
SwaddleMe
Hyland?s Teething Tablets

Re: 0-6 FAQs - hope they help!
There should be a small link on the bottom of the poll that says "view results" so you don't have to vote. HTH!
You should be able to just view results.

You can. Just click on "view results".
Thanks so much.
Hotomale, you can click on "View Results" without actually voting...
Let's try this again...
No offense but what can be asked? What can new mothers talk about? I agree that google is your friend but is only a mother with an older child allowd to ask questions? I'd prefer to ask questions and get answers from people that are more current on the board that I frequent. Of course I still have a while to go before I'm on 0-6 so I guess my opinion may change by then. I just feel like this is taking away from one of the aspects of the board. This is why I agree when everybody said there should be a labor/newborn board.
I don't think they're saying these things CAN'T be asked, but there are a lot of people that will ask a question and then get pissed off if it doesn't get answered right away or at all. I'll go back and re read the original post but that's my take.
This in no way implies that you can't ask questions, but you need to realize that after being on the board for 3+ months you see the same questions all.the.time.
BLOG THE BABY STANDARD FLICKR VIDEOS
I understand that but I guess I'm just of the opinion that this is how any board works. With an influx of new people, you will get an influx of repetitive posts. It's tiring and by the end of it, you just don't care to answer those questions anymore. Like I said before, I see why women want to split up the boards. 0-6 months is a huge difference for infants with so many differences and milestones. I just see it as you guys once asked these questions and others should have the opportunity to ask as well without getting hassled too much for it. But thank you for posting this because those links were very infomative.
I think it's important to keep in mind how long 0-6 months is. Think about the tri boards - they are only 3 months each and even that is enough for people to get annoyed with the same questions being asked. Just like all of the hospital bag posts on 3rd tri, it gets old after a while.
I have to butt in again, I don't see how this is "hassling" us/you? All web sites have a FAQ...I don't know, I guess I think you're taking it too personally like she's attacking third tri and saying "Do not ask these questions because here are the answers already".
Ding ding ding! Thank you. I simply put these together for those that don't get answers when posting. Also to help some of the "older" 0-6ers that are tired of seeing the same question 5739 times a day.

Oooooor could it be that Merks was just trying to be helpful by putting a shitton of answers in one place? I mean, it's obviously because you are not allowed to ask questions.
I find your post hilarious since the women you will be asking your bajillion common questions of, all agreed that this sort of resource would have been an awesome go-to when we were brand new moms. ::shrugs::
Sorry, that's not how I meant to come off. I really do think these links and answers are helpful. I guess I just see how it could make someone uncomfortable about asking a question because they don't want to be annoying or anything. Like I said before, I really really think there should be a board split because a 1 month old is soooooo different from a 5 month old. I understand where these ladies are coming from, I'm just thinking about other sides/aspects of it.
Soooo you find those links "informative" yet you still put on your grumpy-pants and complain?
No one said you can't ask questions, sometimes it is nice to have some quick reference links handy.
Easiest thing would have been to ignore this post and ask your questions on the board.
I'm guessing you asked about lunch meat in 1st tri and diaper bags in 2nd?
LOLOLOL that this post has 3.5 stars!
I think I love that someone put their crankypants on and was all "I'll show them! ONE STAR! IN YOUR FACE!"
I'd imagine it'd be easier & faster to refer to a FAQ post like this than to ask a redundant question and wait around for people to answer.
Don't you belittle those super important, very unique and completely thoughtful questions! HOW DARE YOU!
Never.
And I was just giving another opinion. Sorry if it offended/annoyed you Kari. That wasn't what I was trying to do. So thank you for the links and I see your point more clearly as to why you posted this. At first, I thought you just wanted to stop the questions but I see you were just trying to be helpful. So I'm sorry again. I didn't mean to hijack your post and turn it into something it wasn't.
Ok but what happens at 3 am when you want to know an answer to your question and no one is on line to answer? Sure that's not the only reason why they made this, but I'm sure that since you are "technically" over here early you're pretty sick seeing the same shiit asked over and over again on 2nd right? God knows I'm sick of seeing "Did I just lose my MP?" but I'm entirely too lazy to do what 0-6 has just done for 3rd tri.
But Lerxie, the real question is: Do you like my baby name? I am naming her Yyyy (pronounced John) or Eeeeee (pronounced Bob)
TMB is a SMARRRRT WOMAN Sam. You should sidle up to her and ask her to be your mentor. Many valuable lessons can be learned from her.
The time you have now to ask the same ridiculous questions over and over again will not be the same once the LO is here. You want that answer STAT so that the screaming child in front of you can be calmed as can your frazzled nerves. Waiting for responses will have one of you if not both of you at the end of a very short rope.?
Awww shucks... That's sweet!
Firstly, I'll need a baby name poll thingamajig because I like to click thumbs up or thumbs down. It really helps me visualize my like or dislike.
Secondly, how do you feel about pronouncing Eeeeee, "B?b" ?? I think it brings a certain something to the table.
Just my 2 cents.
It does have a certain jen ne sais quoi.
I am going to have to run that by DH.
We may have a winner.
It's been known to happen - my being sweet. Kinda like Hailey's Comet once every gazillion years or so. Shhhhh it's also the sign of an apocalypse.?
