Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Hi everyone. I'm new.

I found out I was pregnant 5/23.  It was a "surprise" pregnancy as we were not ttc.  I began bleeding last Monday night.  I went in for an ultrasound and the baby measured 5w1d, which I knew couldn't be right based on when I got my bpf.  I had blood draws last Tuesday and Thursday and my numbers didn't double.  I gave the pregnancy the benefit of the doubt after the u/s, but I haven't stopped bleeding and have been cramping quite a bit.  So I guess this means I'm miscarrying "naturally."  I have an appointment today for a u/s and to meet with my doctor.  I'm not looking forward to it to say the least.  I'm surprised how upset I am considering we didn't plan this pregnancy.  I'm just ready for this all to be over.

  • i'm so sorry you're going through this. it is upsetting... husband and i weren't planning either, but the moment i got the BFP, i was all in. when you make the commitment to go through with the pregnancy, planned or not, you dedicate your body to that little being. it's a huge commitment, and shows a lot of love. someone who has never been through that couldn't understand, but we do. i'll be thinking of you on your appt... keep us updated.
  • I'm so sorry you are joining us here and I hope that you get amazing news today at your appt.  There is a lot of support here if you need it and I'm glad to have other women who understand because so many don't.  I was surprised too how much I love our SweetPea, all the dreams, plans, expectations you have the instant you see your BFP.  Don't disregard your feelings and emotions right now and make sure that if you don't have happy news that you give yourself the time you need to grieve and heal.

  • I'm sorry to see you here on this board. I am in a similar position - some bleeding, numbers that aren't doubling as expected. I hope the appointment today went as well as it can.
  • Sorry for what your going thru. DH & I were not ttc either, but got pregnant. But now we have a 7 wk fetus with no heartbeat & having a D&C on friday. It seems to be a bit harder when your not planning & it just happens! Your emotions see to be on a rollercoaster. I will keep you in my thoughts cause I totally understand what you mean about "ready for this all to be over"!
