Anyone washed their diaper bag?

While I was oot, a few of my MMP capsules spilled out in my PBK Ultimate diaper bag and exploded and now it smells like IHOP in there and so do I while I'm carrying it. 

It says "Spot Clean Only" but it didn't touch the smell.  Has anyone ever stuck it in the washing machine?

    No, but I've been wondering the same thing.  Mine could use a good cleaning too.  Sorry I'm no help, but I'll be watching for responses also!

    I usually weigh the options.  Which is worse, a bag ruined in the washer, or a bag that smells like IHOP and maybe be sticky and/or attract bugs?  If it's still usable and you'd hate to do without it, then I wouldn't wash it.  If you can't fathom using it as it is now, then there's no harm in washing it.

    If you're afraid of the washing machine ruining it, you could try washing it by hand.  Just put it in the sink with some Wool-Lite and let it soak.  Rinse thoroughly and hang dry.  I've done this before with items I thought were too delicate to put in the machine.

    I have a Skip*Hop diaper bag, and I've washed it before. I wash it by itself on cold and then let it air dry. It's fine.

    I also have a Skip Hop and we had to wash it.  We forgot a thing of pre-made oatmeal in there over a long weekend.  It leaked out and it reeked!  I actually was pretty sure I would have to throw it out.  It washed fine.  And the smell came out too, thank goodness.

    I have washed several and they were all fine.  My canvas bags tend to soften a little after washing, but I actually prefer it that way.

    i would only try the washer if you have a front loader (no agitator, which can rip the handles off if they get caught).  if you don't have a front loader then hand wash it.

    The only thing I could think of that would prevent from washing it is if the bag has one of those lined keep-bottle-cool pockets.  It might do something to the insulation by washing and drying in machines.
