FSA Eligible Items!

A friend of mine gave me a Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor (The really good one that is $200), and I was looking online for test strips......and the strips are eligible items for FSA! The monitor is too, so if you have an FSA and need a monitor, go out and get one.

Also, sublock is an eligible item as well, in case you need to stock up on sunblock this year.

    Flexible Spending Account. You sign up with your employer in Nov/Dec and the money is deducted from your paycheck before taxes are taken out. You can use the tax free money for health care eligible items:Sunblock, Tylenol, Pregnancy Tests, Medications (prescription and OTC), Copays, Deductables, glasses, prenatal vitamins, the list is almost endless.

    ha, ha, who would have known about the CBEFM!  I just sold mine on ebay!  The last time I bought sticks, I found them on CL a box with only 5 missing fro $10! 

    With my FSA, you have to designate if it's for dependant care or the regular medical stuff/supplies.  SInce daycare is over 10k a year, and you can only put 5k into the FSA, I have 100% of it for dependent care.  I guess it's easier since I don't have to collect receipts, plus we don't ahve co-pays and the like to equal 5k a year. 

    This is out first year using it, and we plan on taking it all out at once while I'm on maternity leave.  I save all daycare receipts, and will just get one big check once my paid maternity leave is up.  So sorta a savings account for us this year, which will be nice to have that extra 5k we've forgotten about.  :)

    Did you know that Walgreens shows you on the receipt if an item is eligible for FSA? And for my company, there is separate medical and dependent care FSAs. We contribute the max to the dependent care but not to the medical.

    Costco does too - it also shows you the sales tax on only FSA items because that is submittable too.
