Back at Children's Mercy...

Well, we are back at Children's Mercy. She cut her eating in half and slept almost all day. Brett thought she felt warm this afternoon around three and around four he took her temp, which was 102.8! He brought her straight down to Children's Mercy. They have admitted her for at least one night, probably more. It appears to be another UTI so they are giving her a different antibiotic and waiting for her urine culture and blood draw results tomorrow.

Samantha isn't as lethargic or out of sorts as last time but still extra sleepy and you can tell it isn't herself. It is heartbreaking to be here again!!

    I got your message last night but didn't know if it was too late to call back.  How is she doing this morning?  Do they know why she would be getting another one so soon after the last?  I hope she gets better soon.

    She is doing ok this morning...sleeping a lot b/c she didn't sleep very much last night. She still isn't eating much...about half as much as she was. They are not sure why she got another one but changed her antibiotic to see if it was something to do with that. 

    Her blood cultures came back with growth so she has to have another blood draw and lumbar puncture...we will at least be here tonight...possibly 5-10 day long stay.

    Oh my gosh, your poor little girl!  And I can't imagine how you are feeling as well.  Yuck.  We are thinking of you and hoping Samantha feels better quickly!

    Oh Jen, I am so sorry you and Brett have to go through this again. Poor Samantha, hopefully they can figure out quickly what is going on and she can be home soon as healthy as can be. 

     

    *We must have just missed you on Monday. We were at Mercy with Lillian in the morning for a renal sono. :-)
