What to pack when travelling with an infant

I'm a pro at packing for me, and I can even do DS, but I am at a loss for what to pack for G.

We'll be gone for a week.

HELP!

Re: What to pack when travelling with an infant

  • I would say whatever you take in the diaperbag for a day, times that by 7.

This plus, I would add Tylenol or Motrin and a thermometer.

  • In addition to the above, a few favorite toys too.  On suggestions from other nesties, we bought a couple of new ones that he hadn't seen and broke them out "in case of emergency" on the airplane, etc.

When Nick was younger, I also packed extra bowls, spoons and baby food.  I always carry a bunch of Ziploc bags (for dirty clothes, burp cloths, half eaten bananas, etc.)

I think you're cloth diapering, right?  If you're not going the cloth route for the trip and depending on where you're going, I'd pack enough diapers to get through maybe a day & a half and then buy diapers when you get to your destination.  We did that with baby food & wipes too.  Bring enough so that you're prepared in case you're delayed, etc., but not so much that you're filling your suitcase with the stuff!

  • Everyone gave you great suggestions above...

We NEVER traveled without our sound machine!!

  • I always take, tylenol, motrin, thermometer, baby wash, diaper cream, sunscreen and lotion, and lots of spare binkys.

I bring some toys, the ones that are small but can entertain DC, and books.  I packed a ton of snacks too.

  • Oh and a bottle washing kit if G takes bottles (bottle brush and dish soap).
  • Thanx everyone!

Good tip on the sound machine. This is def. a must at home, so I will make sure to pack it.
