Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

How old was DC when you went to your first storytime?

I'm taking DD to a bookstore storytime tomorrow.  It's supposedly open for all ages.  Do you think she's old enough?

If it's open to all ages, it might not be hard for her to sit still.

The one we go to is birth to age two, so it's geared specifically toward the little ones.  The books are short and interspersed with lots of songs.  The toddlers run around and play with the animal puppets and the babies sit with their parents and chill.  It's perfect for us.  If she had to sit quietly and listen to a long story book along with four and five year olds, I don't think she could do it.

  • I started to take Maeve regularly at age 6 months. Go and try ti out--you'll know after about 15 minutes whether she's ready or not. :-)
  • Ours at our library is birth-35mos we go almost every wed.  It's fun!!
  • We go every Sat to ours at the library and it's for birth-18 months.

  • We haven't gone yet b/c our local library only has story hour for kids my DS' age in the month of March.  I thought that was really weird.  This post got me thinking to check our local book stores to see if they have one.  If so, I will give it a try.  My DS loves to read. I figure if he acts up then we can just leave.
  • I took DS last week for the first time to Barnes and Noble.

6 or 7 months, I think.  It's actually harder the older they get. Now all DD wants to do is walk around.
