Do they do a pap at your postpartum checkup? It's been over a year since I've had one and I'm curious if I'll need to make a separate appointment for that.
Just had my 6 week check up and yes she did one... ouch! (I guess thats why they say to wait six weeks, so the doc can violate you with the speculum and your not afraid of your husband. Ha!)
And somehow the idea of the speculum seems a lot less scary than sex. Maybe I can talk the doctor into extending that no-sex ban for a few months.
If it makes you feel better, Sarah was 10 weeks old before we started having sex again. Some women may be recovered enough by 6 weeks, but I was most definitely not. Besides, we were EXHAUSTED. I would have chosen a nap over a quickie any day of the week.

Here's how my pp appts broke down:
2 weeks pp - Check in to make sure I wasn't depressed or having major issues. No physical exam, just a hello-how-are-things with the doctor.
6 weeks pp - Physical exam but no pap
3 months pp - Pap, and this date will be my new annual appt date.
Thanks.

My doctor offered to do it. I couldn't have done that to D though.
I don't think I did, because I already had my annual appt scheduled for a few months later so they just did it then.

Not when they dig around in there with it.
I was hoping she wouldn't clear me, but she did. DH has been pestering me since then. He goes "Are we EVER going to have sex again?" Ha!
