How many times can you check the heart beat?

How many times has the OB check your fetus' heart beat?

 

Because I'm going on three checks now. I kinda think that maybe it's because I have a history of HPB, so maybe OB wants to be sure that my baby's heart rate is staying normal.

    Good to know :) thanks ladies. So at least this was DH will still be able to hear the baby's heart for the first time, since he missed the last two times. A dad's gotta work.

    The hb gets checked at every appointment for us, just because that's standard pro with my doc. And I am starting weekly appts this week (Sjogren's syndrome can lead to heart defects / heart block) so we will start hearing it once a week through a fetal echo for the next 10 or so weeks.
