I had the standard 1/2 dozen or so vials of blood taken at the very beginning, but that's it so far. I know they'll draw blood as part of the glucose test, but I was wondering if they take it again for anything else? I'm somewhat surprised that they are taking it to watch my iron since I was found to be anemic with the first round of tests, but other than advising me to take an iron supplement, nothing.
Anyone know?
Re: When do they take blood again?
I think they just draw it as needed, like if something comes up. I believe my CNM said that I'll have some "standard" blood draws to check for blood sugar down the road but that was the only standard test I recall being mentioned.
However, because I have thyroid issues and Factor V Leiden mutation, and an overprotective CNM, I just get to be bled dry from time to time. Consider yourself lucky!
