I was at work today, and one of my co-workers was talking about her daughter getting pregnant. She said that she had a one night stand and a week later she found out she was pregnant.

Now from what I've learned from all of you, this isn't possible is it? I'm too lazy to google it right now.

I think daughter was lying to mom. I tried telling her that it probably wasn't from that night and she said, "oh no my daughter said she hadn't had sex in forever before that one night stand."

In my brain this does not make sense. It just makes me laugh.

    Technically no, you cannot have a positive hpt one week after you have sex, even with the best timing.

    Daughter is either lying or she's off on her dates. My guess is, she's lying. Of course, wouldn't it be typical that she DID get pregnant after a one night stand, had perfect timing with ovulation and wasn't even trying?

    It figures.

    Either the daughter was lying, confused about the day she had sex or she got a REALLY SUPER early pregnancy test. But that makes almost no sense, since it was a one night stand. The only people crazy enough to start testing only a week after having sex are people who are TRYING to get pregnant. Her period wouldnt even be late by then.

    I got my BFP 10 days after the last time we had sex...I guess we had good timing, but still...my bet is on the daughter lying.

    I have heard of a few positive HPTs at 7 DPSex but usually they ovulated before that and the egg was just still viable.  But besides that....if she was testing 7 days after she had sex then she tried to get pregnant or there was an accident prior.

    Possibly, if she took a test 10 dpo and rounded down.  Highly unlikely though.
