So annoyed by DH's cousins.

So I am at DH's cousins baby shower today and she is telling me that she looked at my registry and she goes on to pretty much tell me that most of the things I registered for are useless. She ripped me a new one about wipe warmers and?swaddling(sp)??blankets. Both of which my niece and nephew had and my sister liked them.?

I just wanted to tell them to STFU and let me find out on my own. They both have kids and act like I have no clue what I am doing.

Sorry I had to vent...?

    You'll figure out what you like & what you don't like.  I think that the swaddling blankets are great, because DH sucks at swaddling a baby!  The stuff on your registry is to make your life easier, so who cares what she thinks!  My dad didn't understand why we needed an extra base for our carseat if we could just take the original base out & move it to the other car....its a convenience thing.  Don't pay any attention to them.

    I am sorry! Now, in the bump world- I can actually tell you that wipe warmers ARE useless, LOL. (JMO of course.) But IRL, her telling you that without you asking for her opinion and knowing that you registered for them (and weren't just considering them) was completely inappropriate. Pretty rude. I would have been annoyed as well.

    Oh and yeah- you do need to learn/decide these things on your own. This time around, there are SO many things we will not be getting/using again. But we had to live and learn!

    that's rude! We all want different things and why should it matter to her what you want to use?? I got my warmer and swaddler and can't wait to use them! :)

    Did you not like the warmer because the wipes dried out? She didn't give me any reason of why she didn't like it.?

    Did you not like the warmer because the wipes dried out? She didn't give me any reason of why she didn't like it. 

    I actually.... never tried it. LOL. Because I *heard* that they dry out. And then people say- what do you do when you change the baby away from home and can't warm the wipe? Then people say you can just warm the wipe quickly in your hands if you need/want to.... In the end, we chose not to get one because we just wanted to keep it simple and felt like the baby would be just fine without it, that's all. :)

    I hate when people question what you pick....who cares if you want a wipe warmer? If they think its a waste of money, they can pick something else out to buy you. The worst thing that happens is you dont use it. I have people telling me I "forgot" things...maybe I just dont want them...
