I have LOADS of them No one in my family has them and I've used cocoa butter, vitamin E, Collagen etc etc EVERY DAY, multiple times a day and still have them. I don't believe in good genes/heredity or lotions. Either you are fortunate enough to not get them or you do.
Cocoa Butter, Vaseline, Baby Oil.. has nothing to do with it. My Mother didn't get but 2 with my brother and I.. but I get an erray of them all over my belly with my first baby. It has to do with the elasticity in your skin.
I wouldn't have gotten them but the last 2 weeks of my pregnancy, it was like FREDDY KRUGER attacked me because I fell asleep before midnight.
This pregnancy, I didn't get any new ones. (thank you Lord)
I have been applying Vitamin E lotion on my belly with this pregnancy to help the coloration of my last stretch marks.
I'm with you in the "no stretch marks" category. My dr even commented on how I have none. I am thinking it's good genes (I don't think I've ever seen a stretch mark on my mom's body) but I also use cocoa butter religiously. Hopefully, I didn't just jinx myself.

I've had them practically since the belly arrived, and they are about as bad as you can imagine on my stomach. Hell, some of them have turned purple, while other spots have a slight green/yellow tinge like healing bruises. But, whatever, I can't do a thing about them. I lotion to keep from itching, but it's not like you can prevent the damn things. I wasn't planning to walk around topless in public any time soon anyway.?

Not yet, but I still have two whole months to worry about it. My plan is to just stay well hydrated. I've got my fingers crossed that I make it without any.

I didn't have any until about 37w. They've sprouted up on my hips and butt. Lovely.
And yeah, cocoa butter does nothing - they're in the tissue, not on the skin. The only thing it's good for is preventing itchiness and dryness!

Exactly this. Thank God mine aren't deep
I just noticed 2 small ones the other day, and I had not noticed any before hand, neither had DH. I was shocked because I thought I was good to go.
