3rd Trimester

Newborn born in Hospital parking garage

Almost 2 weeks ago a woman gave birth in the parking gaarage of a local hospital... 2 staff members on their way home stopped and helped.  One of them tied off the umbilical cord.  I can't find a link to the original story, but there was a good letter to the editor about it today I thought I'd share.

If you go into labor quickly and do not male it to L&D, do not let someone tie the cord off with their showlace.  It can wait.

  • My MW said that if in an emergency we needed to tie the cord to use dental floss. She says she carries it around with her just in case. LOL
