My almost 13 month old DS has now been eating table food much more frequently lately. I always cut things up into small pieces and he feeds himself with his hand. I was wondering at what age you can give him food, say grilled cheese, whole and they will bite into it. How old is your toddler and when did you start to give them food to bite into?
Re: Does your toddler bite into his food?
ds is really good with biting into his food...he's been doing it since around a year. I gave him the gerber arrowroot cookies and he just gummed them and i think that taught him how to bite. I still cute things up like grapes and some fruit, etc. But he bites into bread, waffles, pancakes, sandwiches...things soft like that and his dried apricots.
she does some things really well. she gets whole wheat ritz crackers and nilla wafers and takes little bites. i also give her grilled cheese in strips instead of bite sized pieces.
it's easier now that she finally has some teeth!
