Gauze and Vaseline for circ?

If you have a boy and he was circumsized, how long did you put the gauze with vaseline on it for? They told us a week at the hospital but I feel like I should still put vaseline on it ( no gauze) - I'm afraid the diaper may stick to it or something...it is still healing.

  • They took the gauze off before we left the hospital but I kept putting vaseline on there until I knew it was completely healed - which probably a good month. I just didn't want to risk it sticking and I figured it couldn't hurt if I kept doing it!

  • I think we put both on his for about 10 days and then the dr. said it was ok to leave it off.  Good luck!
  • Ours didn't require gauze, so we just greased him until it healed, it took probably 2.5 weeks to be totally healed.
  • I used vaseline until it looked completely healed!

This! Except ours did have gauze, but it fell off before we even left the hospital. They told us to leave it off, and goop it up. We did that for about 2.5 weeks

  • Geez...I feel bad. I think I did it for only 3 days and it looked fine to stop doing it...
image Alcoholism is not determined by how much you drink or how often, but by negative consequences in your life that do not alter your drinking habits.
