I used Playtex Drop-Ins with my daughter when she was a baby but now that I understand the harmful effects of plastic bottles, I am planning to use glass.
we have a few dr browns glass bottles along with a handful of dr browns BPA free plastic ones (i was weary of using the glass bottles when travelling - i'm always breaking things). but, i cant give any reviews yet!
we're just getting to the point of discussing those kinds of things. i'm like ctbride, always breaking things, so i'm leery of glass--although i would definitely consider it. we're looking into BPA free bottles as well, and will likely end up with those or a mix.
I like glass and couldn't wait to use them. However, PBS came to us using drop-ins, which are now BPA free, and we can't switch her. Maybe for another baby :-(
Our big focus was finding a bottle that would not lead to early weaning. We had some recommendations from a lactation consultant. The only glass in the bunch are evenflo but they no longer sell the right nipple for our purposes. So we use evenflo bottles for pumping and storing, and playtex ventaire for feedings, which are BPA and phthalate free.
i registered for the munchkin ones (havent tried them yet LO isnt here) but for those of you worried about breaking target carries cute sleeves for the munchkin bottles that are supposed to help prevent breaking..they seem to cushion the bottle pretty well, i think playtex makes some with sleeves as well, but they didnt seem as thick...but Id look into getting some that have the silicone sleeves...
Re: Glass Bottles?
We love our glass bottles. We use the munchkin brand.
I've heard good things about the Born Free ones, but didn't see the point in spending the extra money when DD does so well on the others.
