rp: Older frozen breastmilk

I just looked in my freezer (side by side fridge/freezer) and realized I have milk from November, December, January, and February.

Should I just toss it all-- it's simply too old right? UGH. I can't believe I just noticed literally bags and bags of breastmilk!?

awwww...maybe thaw some and see how it smells/looks/tastes?  I probably wouldn't go back longer than 6 months, but if it can survive for a year in a deep freeze, it's possible it might be OK.  Sorry to hear you overlooked your milk!  If only I'd had that as a problem. I was looking under every frozen vegetable bag for errant milk bags. LOL Such is the life of a gal with supply issues.

  • February is probably okay still - that's only four months, and I think that's the standard for a freezer you access frequently.  I think deep freeze is 6 months, right?

That said, I probably used stuff that was about 5 months old a while back but it was in the back of my freezer and looked/smelled okay.
