Which stroller to get for 2?

I wasn't going to do the double stroller thing, but now that I've been home with my almost 3 yr old DS and 3 wk old DD for over a week I feel like I need one.  I've been looking at the sit n stand models and they have gotten so many mixed reviews that now I'm not sure.  DS is not the type to walk next to me when out in public, so I feel like I need something for when we are all out together and for vacations.  Which double side by side strollers take an infant seat?  I've only seen 1- the Peg Perego Aria twin.  Also, I don't want to spend a ton of $$ since its not going to be used all the time.

  • I have done ZERO research other than to check if they take an infant seat, but the two that I like are the Zooper Tango and the Bumbleride Indie Twin.  The Bumbleride  is pricey, but the Zooper is very reasonable.

  • I have a love/hate relationship with my Sit & Stand (Joovy Caboose Ultralight).  I do like that it's smaller than a double stroller, but the flip side of that is that there really isn't much room for DS, especially when it's used with an infant seat because the front seat has to be reclined. It has worked out for us because DS hasn't wanted to be in a stroller much since DD was born. I mostly use it so I can have him confined when we are going through parking lots, and then if he's misbehaving at the mall or something, I have the option of buckling him in while we head back to the car if he's having a fit.  If your older child still wants to ride in a stroller (or you want him to ride in a stroller), I would not recommend a sit & stand.  I think a side by side would be a much better option.
  • I heard so many great things about the zooper, but we got it and HATED it.  It was so horrible we returned it the first day we tried it and got a Bob Revolution Double.  It is spendy, but definitely worth it.

The other one we were considering was the baby jogger city mini - but it didn't take car seats, so we couldn't do that.

Thanks!  I really want the Bumbleride, but since we have 4 single strollers Embarrassed MH wanted me to look at cheaper options for a double.  This is a good argument for me to use for the Bumbleride!

  • You have FOUR single strollers? Holy man. DH would kill me! We had two for a while (the Graco and the Bob single), and then we sold the Graco to buy the double. I really wanted to like the Zooper because we have heard so many great things about it - we have friends that love it. But we couldn't get it to unfold easily, we took it for a short walk at our local art fair, and the wheels kept getting stuck sideways on every little bump we hit, etc. We called the store before we even got back home to return it. We didn't want the Bob double originally since it is so big/expensive, but we should have just gotten it in the first place. We looked at a bunch of Chicos too, but I just couldn't pay over $300 for how cheap it was/felt. I have never seen the bumbleride in person, and I think it is good that it wasn't an option for me - I'd have it for sure!  If the Baby Jogger City Mini came out with their infant seat attachment yet I would definitely check into that - it was supposed to be coming out soon (and that was a year ago).  Not much more than the zooper!
  • I just recently switched from a Graco DuoGlider to the BabyTrend Sit N Stand LX.  LOVE, LOVE,  LOVE it!!!  (I think you get the point!)  Our 3 AND 5 year old can fit on the back of that thing (one sitting facing forward & the other standing facing me).  There is no space issue, even with our 7 month old's Graco Snug Ride 32 in the front (which it always is when we use the stroller).  I get so many comments on this stroller from strangers, too, asking about it & saying how cool it is!  It really is!  I will NEVER go back to a regular 2-seat stroller again!!
