Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Baby is throwing up...

Dean had his four month shots yesterday and has acted just fine up until this afternoon (pretty much 24 hours later).  He is a bit crabby and only wants to be held while standing up.  He's been vomiting (not spitting up) and can't seem to keep much down.  He does not appear to have a fever.  However, he will still smile and laugh at me.  I don't think that it is a reaction to his shots, because it's been a full day after he had them.  Right?  Reactions to shots happen within a few hours, yes?

Re: Baby is throwing up...

  • I heard reactions can happen past 24 hours, that's why some people continue to give tylenol for 48 hours. But I'm not a doctor, you should call your pedi or newborn advice nurse if you have one.

  • I would call ped. Even if it was not from the shots babies can pick up all sorts of things just from being in the doctors office.
  • I would call pedi. It could be from the Rotavirus vax if he got that.
