Reading FutureJHL's post made me wonder what you ladies do during the day. Do you have the TV on during the day? I'm trying to leave mine off b/c DS totally watches it. It's so quiet during the day!!
DS and I try to stay busy. We get out a few days a week, play with his toys, read books, etc. I try to do household stuff while he's asleep. And I also aim to get a nap in!
Re: SAHMs: What do you do all day?!
My day looks like this:
Wake up anywhere between 7-9am.
Bottle/Playtime/Nap. REPEAT, REPEAT, REPEAT. Playtime includes bouncy seat, play mat, tummy time, bumbo, reading, singing, listening to kids music.
We try to get out around 1:00 or so every day, just to go somewhere, but I'm not gonna lie, it gets borning. I use the computer durning the day, and watch morning TV, but that is it. Then maybe turn it on around 3:00. I am trying to join a few moms groups, but since she is still so little, it does make it hard to get out based on a time schedule.
I get dinner ready and clean up during her late afternoon nap. She goes down for the night around 7:00.
back before henry really started playing (4-5 months or so), i kept the tv on during the day. once he started playing and getting good at turning toward the tv, off it went. i never have it on when he's awake anymore.
i was actually better at doing chores back then than i am now. it's so much more involved keeping up with him, so i feel like i need more rest time during the day. he's just so quick, and he keeps me on my toes all day.
we generally get to my neighbor's a few times a week (if not every day). they have a 14 month old boy, and he and henry enjoy playing, and his mom and i enjoy talking
we haven't been going recently because of henry's illness and now my pinkeye, but that's a big one for us.?
I kept the tv on all day until Liam was 3 or 4 months old and started paying attention to it. Now the tv is off until after he's gone to bed for the day.
We play until his morning nap, after that we usually go out and run errands or just walk around a store until lunchtime. Then we hang out, play until his afternoon nap. After his PM nap, we often play outside on the deck with his water table until Daddy comes home. I also try to fit at least one stroller walk in during the day, depending on the weather.
For now I'm SAH until I go back to work in July. ?Right now we're listening to music and dancing on mommy's lap (and one handed typing). ?He'll sleep soon though and I'll wear the monitor on me and go outside for a bit. ?Sometimes I use nap time to clean or cook or do yoga. ?I think getting out with him at least a few times a week is crucial too. ?Lately, he comes outside and hangs with me in the shade while mommy gets some sun by the pool (don't be impressed, it's inflatable).?If I had to do this lon term, I think play dates would be crucial for my sanity.
