NT scan

So we had our NT scan today,  actually really excited about it b/c it was our first u/s and our first time "seeing" baby.  It actually yawned and rolled away while we were watching it - I could have died it was soo cute!!

Anyway, the sheet that the tech handed me to take down to the lab said that the NT was 2.2mm.  Any thoughts as to whether this leans toward "positive" or "negative"?  I can't find any definitive answers one way or another so just wanted other ladies thoughts.  (Obviously only a doctor can actually interpret the actual meaning) I'm just curious.

    I think it depends how far along you are. That said, from what I have read that sounds like a good number for 12 to 13 weeks. With another pregnancy I had 3.6 and was worried as I was told over 3 was suspect. Everything turned out fine though - she just had a thick neck!

    Ditto... I was told if it measures under three, that's good.

    But take that with a grain of salt.  Don't let the NT Scan fool you into a false sense of security.  They're only guidelines and indicators.

    My scan measurements were great, but my bloodwork indicated high risk for Downs and elevated risk for Tri-18.   So those conflicting things has kinda left me wishing we'd never done the NT Scan.

    Hi! Mine was either 2.2 or 2.1 also. Everything turned out fine. Isn't it fun to see the LO! :)

    I have also read that under 3 mm is good, but as pp mentioned, the results are based on the measurement in combination with bloodwork.  Hope you get good results soon.
    DD1 is 3, DD2 is 1.

    That's adorable that you got to see your baby yawn.  My NT scan is next week, so I have no words of wisdom.  Just wanted to say congratulations that everything seems to be on track.
