This is what we're going to name our baby if it's a boy. I LOVE this name. It's original, it's adorable, and it's just cool (at least we think so). I'm a veterinarian, and do see lots of dogs and cats named Otis, but that's okay. It's a great name, and he'll probably be the only kid in his class named Otis. We also like Amos, but it's too close to "anus"...
My DH recently suggested this as a MN for our baby if it's a girl! Granted, he is not from here and English is not his first language! He thought it was a girl's name. Too hilarious! But I was glad he quickly changed his tune when he realized it is not for a daughter!

I like the idea, but in practice, seems like kind of a "dog name" to me, since I know a few people with dogs named Otis. But there is Otis Redding too, so that's good. I would think you were a huge fan....
Re: Otis
That's exactly what I was thinking.
Same... it's a cute name for a dog (or was Otis the cat?)

Ditto! Like a big slobbery bulldog.
