How many of you watch your crab and shrimp intake on a weekly basis? I feel like whenever I eat out, I gravitate towards those items...just curious to see if you are conscious or not?
I find myself doing the same thing. I had sushi 2-3 times one week, and then got a fish sandwich later in the week. I hope my baby isn't born with fins and gills.
I'm completely in love with seafood, but I've been steering clear of it since I found out I was pregnant. Sometimes I'll steal shrimp off of my fiance's plate when we're out, but I've actually done pretty well. Now if you put me in a Joe's Crab Shack right now...I'm not sure I would do so well!

I just want lobster. I asked my doc if it was ok, and he said yes, but its high in cholesterol. I'm sure I gave him a look like "that's the least of my concern!" haha.
I had gordon's fish filets last night. they didn't go well at all. blech! I usually love em.
I have had seafood twice since I got my BFP while out and about (shrimp at red lobster, and salmon at a cafe) and tuna maybe 4-5 times. So I don't regulate it per se, but I don't eat as much as I did prepregnancy.

I had shrimp last night and fish tacos the night before. I eat fish at least once a week, shellfish maybe once a month. (but I sure would like some steamed crab legs with butter...)
I've only eaten shrimp or crab about once a week, and then fish probably another time a week. I don't think I eat in in excess, so I'm not worried about it.
I eat seafood maybe twice per week. I don't see anything wrong with eating except maybe raw or certain kinds. I usually eat, shrimp, catfish, whiting, tilapia, or crab.
I try not to go over 8oz a week, but don't kill myself if I do. Some weeks I have none, so I figure it all balances out. I mostly just make sure all of it's cooked.
What's wrong with shrimp and crab? My understanding is that you really only need to be concerned about larger fish because of the mercury content (tuna, swordfish, mahi mahi, etc.) Small fish and shrimp and crab should be fine.
Sorry that I don't know how to make it clicky but I've read a few articles about how beneficial fish is for pregnant women.
An interesting quote from this article:
"Compared with women who ate the least fish during
pregnancy, women who at the most fish -- about 14 ounces per week,
on average -- had about a 30 percent likelihood of better
development, about the same advantage a child would get from being
one month older or from breast-feeding for more than one
year," Oken explained.
Re: The crab salad post had me wondering...

I have tried to cut back though.
Even if I ate it for a week straight I would go at least another 8 weeks without it. I don't eat it enough to regulate my intake on it.
Sounds good though- DH picked up Crab salad last night and Im thinking of putting it on some crackers when I get home.

No seafood regulations going on here. I eat it when I want to.
