Well my cervix is barely a fingertip opened. (she tried to shove her finger up there to open me up, it hurt like hell and still did nothing! )
My cervix was still very thick and not effaced at all.
So my dr has set my induction date for the 16th at 8pm.
If my cervix has opened enough then they will administer the cervadil. (she thinks it will take two doses of 12 hours each)
If it hasnt opened at all then they will try and ripen it with prostaglandins.
After the cervadil then they will start the pitocin and i will hopefully have my LO in my arms by the 18th. An estimated two days of induction.
But if my cervix is still "unfavorable", a cesarean will be the only option.
Prayers are needed ladies, for either my cervix to start ripening or for my body to go into labor on its own before then.
The worst part is that my mom is going to have to extend her stay now and her boss isnt very happy about it. I know God has a plan but this is really hard to be a peace with.
Re: Back from my very disappointing Dr. Appt :(
I'm sorry. I'm sending you payers and labor dust. I hope you go into labor soon.
I'm glad your mom will be able to extend her stay, though it sucks that her boss won't like it.
Proud mama to a boys- 6/17/09 - a girl 2/23/11- and a boy 8/20/12
so if your cervix is the same they are gonna make you do a c/s? Even w/o a medical need?
if my body wont go into labor on its own naturally then yes a c/s is the only option. and it will be medically necessary.
You seriously need to start drinking Red Raspberry Leaf Tea by the gallons.
I'm sorry this is happening, of all the Bumpies I barely know, I want you to have the optimal birthing experience and Baby Bear is NOT cooperating. Or maybe it's just your damn cervix.
I will think nothing but ripening thoughts for you.
All my fruit jokes will be dedicated to you and focus on ripe or over ripe fruit from here on out.
Did I mention you need to drink the tea? DRINK THE TEA!
::note to self - go and buy the tea and start drinking it for when you are psychologically prepared to have this baby yourself - which could be a few more months, maybe another year or so::?
And I was really hoping for good news this time...
Well, tons of luck and labor dust and prayers and wishes at you and your LO anyway. Hang in there!
I'm sorry to hear this...it must be so frustrating.
Just prayed for you, baby and DH.
Hang in there!
I am sorry about the disappointing DR's appt.
Sending lots of prayers for you cervix to get busy.
I'm sorry
I hope things get moving soon!
i am loving the tea and drinking it like crazy! thanks so much red!
For whatever it is worth...
I have an 8 month old. I had an induction date scheduled for a Friday. A week before the appointment (Friday) I had ZERO cervical change - no labor in sight. The following Sunday night I started having contractions and had my little girl that Tuesday and was not induced. I beat the scheduled date by 3 days.
It can happen. Hang in there and spend a lot of time on an exercise ball
