Pregnant after a Loss

all of the sudden...i'm scared

don't know why, but i was browsing through other posts and i saw in someones siggy that they had 2 m/c due to blighted ovums. my first m/c was a blighted ovum and now i am paranoid that it will happen again. please someone give me reassurance. i see my dr. next wednesday and then will soon follow with an u/s, but....now i'm just so scared.
Married my BEST FRIEND on December 1, 2007. Started TTC in March 2008. Found out we were expecting our first child in October 2008 - but had a m/c in December 2008 - resulting in a d&e. Met with a RE in May 2009 and set a plan - but conceived unexpectedly on our own! Our precious little Sophia was born on February 9, 2010! Lilypie Third Birthday tickers

Re: all of the sudden...i'm scared

  • My m/c was a blighted ovum, but so far this pregnancy has been perfect **knock on wood**. Remember that having more than one blighted ovum is VERY rare, but it does happen. We just see those rare things happen more often because it's a loss board. The chances of it happening again are small. Hang in there and congrats!!

  • Cora is right.  The chances of it happening again are VERY small.  So stay positive and try to be calm until your appointment next week.  Today you are pregnant and love your baby.

  • I had to stop reading people's sigs for that very reason.  I had a missed m/c, which is also a rare type of m/c, and seeing women who have had 2 or 3 really freaked me out.  Just because it happened to another poster doesn't mean it will happen to you.  I had to keep repeating that to myself so I wouldn't freak out so much.

  • Hang in there Jilli... I think everyone gets scared until they are past the point of the past mc. You only have a little over a week before you can have an u/s and then you'll be able to see your little bug in there! Even schedule it for 6.5 to 7 weeks if it would make you feel better. I'm doing that, so just in case I'm not as far along as we think I am, I won't stress if they say it's just too early to see anything.

    Stay Positive!!! Hugs EDD Buddy!
