All I can say is thank god she got hit by a car and not a truck.
They assessed her at the hospital and say no life threatening injuries, but she's pretty beat up.
Fractured skull, ankle (will need to operate), and pubic bone (poor kid).
Bruised Lungs and laceration on her liver.
Thank you for your prayers, she will need them as she recovers.
Re: Update on my niece...
I can honestly say I'll sleep better tonite knowing this... thank you.
It's weird how you just ache for families/moms/kids you've never met...
I hope she stays strong and heals quickly! sidebar: the pain meds and laying in bed make skin itch like mad.. send some of her favorite scents or something, I vividly remember how good it felt to not itch, and to get that loving touch! ;-)
thanks! Kids really are tough, she's one tough cookie. I think it was good she was not conscious so she had no idea what was going on. I'm pretty sure they're keeping her sedated at this point, but maybe not.
My mom had to go outside to call so she didn't want to take too long.
From what my other brother was able to gather...she got hit by the car (poor bro watched her fly through the air) and hit her head on the guard rail.
She's obviously not out of the woods yet, but *fingers crossed* the power of prayer and thoughts will get her there.
