Middle name for Eli?

DH and I have pretty much decided on Eli if we have a boy. It will be "just" Eli no longer version. I really like the mn James (it is my deceased grandfathers name as well as my brothers name). I'm worried if we go with James everyone will think it's weird that I named my baby after my brother, not knowing about the grandpa.

Anyways, what are your suggestions for a mn for Eli?

ETA: My grandfather passed away when my grandma was pregnant with my mom - so I've obviously never met him. The association would definitely be with my brother not my grandfather.

I like James as a middle name. I don't think anyone would find it weird that he would share a middle name with your brother either - its a family name. It's up to you - it's a nice name with real meaning. I wouldn't worry about what people think.

I like Eli James. And since it's a middle name, I don't think everyone will associate it with your brother... especially if you clarify that he is actually named for your grandfather - and teach Eli that that's where the name came from.

I like Eli James. And there's nothing wrong with naming your kid after your brother - unless you just don't like your brother.?

In fact, Eli James is exactly the name that's been on my short list for boys for a long time. Except I like James b/c that's what my mother was going to name me.

I'm no good with suggestions as it seems to me that James is what should go with Eli since that's what's on my list ?
