3rd Trimester

NBR: hair irons/straighteners

My wonderful lab decided to make a snack out of my hair iron two weeks ago so I need to replace it because I can't use it anymore. The hair iron I had was a Chi which replaced my other Chi I had for 7 years (i loved both of them!). I would be open to trying out another brand so any suggestions are welcomed.

  • I believe mine's called a corioliss or something like that.  I tried it out at one of those stands in the mall and then came home and bought it on ebay.  It works great and was way cheaper than a chi.

  • Chi is the best, but really expensive.  I think I have a Revlon and a Conaire that I got at Wal-mart.  They'll do, but I want another Chi!

  • I had a CHI and really liked it - until I burnt it up in London (yes, I had a converter AND an adapter, but I digress)

When I got home my stylist recommended a GHD.  And I have to say - I LOVE the GHD.  Better than the CHI I had, IMO.  More expensive, I think, but I feel like it works better.

I bought a Hot Tools 1" digital flat iron when I got a haircut a while back because I was too cheap to go for the Chi.  It was about $65 or so, and it's pretty good.  The buttons are in an awkward place and sometimes I pinch my hand in the hinge, but it does the job.
    I HAVE CHILDREN.
  • I LOVE my Hot Tool!!
  • wigo ceramic....can be found at Sally's beauty shop and probably similar stores. A bit pricey as well, but I love it and have had this one for about 5 years... I use it almost every day and I have super thick hair and it does the trick.

this... or the Chi upgrade... the Hai! :)

  • I have a Hair Art iron and i really really like!! I think it was like $120 well worth the money!! I have had it for 4 years now and it still works like brand new. I had a chi before this one and it quit working after about 1.5 years. Paul Mitchell has a great one too that runs about the same in cost.

This! Plus it's the one I've had recommended by every hair stylist I've ever talked to.

  • I think Sedu are awesome.
  • I am actually a hair stylist and they recently started manufacturing the CHI's in china now, not in the US like they used too, so we've been having a alot of people returning them with weird problems.  So we've been selling the HAI's and haven't had any issues with them and they are just as good if not better then the CHI's.  Granted I love my Chi, I've had it for 6 years, and I have the hair dryer too, but since they started making them in China, you just don't know what your getting.  Hope this helps!
