My insertions wasn't that bad. I felt a little cramping, but nothing that some ibuprofen couldn't handle throughout the night.
My biggest issue now is that I am still
bleeding since I had it put on 4/29. Full on bleeding and passing clots
- not spotting. I am also having the worse cramps that I have ever had
in my life. I can tolerate pain pretty well too, but one weekend it got
so bad I actually considered going to the hospital. I went to the DR.
that Monday and told her what was going on and she did an U/S to make
sure that it was still in there and it was. She basically begged me to
keep it in and give it a shot. So against my better judgment, I did. I
go back on 6/23 and if I am still bleeding then it is coming out.
Spotting I can deal with and that is what I expected, this full on
bleeding is for the birds.
My friend has it and loves it. She spotted off and on for the first few months and did have some bad cramps but now she is fine. I think this is going to be my choice of BC because I don't do well on pills.
I've had mine for two weeks now and it's going well. I was freaked out about having it put in and having it hurt (regardless of giving birth to both my kids w/o meds!), but I didn't feel it one bit. My doctor inserted it and then stood up and said he was done and I was like, "What? But I didn't feel anything." It was great. Good luck to ya!

It's not too bad, kind of like a pap but a little more uncomfortable. I am still spotting a little which is annoying, but I haven't had any cramping so I am grateful for that. DH felt it the first time we had sex, but hasn't since then.
After my good friend started with Mirena & loved it, I started to really consider it. I am terrible on the pill so I figured it was worth a try (I was back on the pill for 2 mos post-baby)...
I had my appt yesterday and the insertion was very uncomfortable but nothing major. It almost felt like the examination they do when you're in labor to see if you're dialated! I only have taken Advil twice since then and just have minor cramping now. I guess my spotting/bleeding will increase because I don't have much happening right now. My friend bled for over 2 full months so I know it's just the 'calm before the storm'!
