My fiance is currently traveling for work right now. And at any given time he can be up to five hours away from me. I am almost 35 weeks pregnant and was thinking about getting induced to make sure he will be there when the baby is due.
He says that he will go 90mph if need be, and that it is my first baby so it is most likely that he could make it even if he was five hours away... He has missed the whole pregnancy and I would be so heartbroken if he missed this too!
If you were in my shoes what would you do?
Re: My Fiance & I Don't Agree
When will he be done traveling? My DH travels for work occasionally...but he already told them that he can't leave the whole month of June since I'm getting close.

Baby BOY!
I can understand how you feel. I wouldn't want FI to miss the birth either!!
However, I don't agree with a voluntarily getting induced to meet a specific goal (unless your husband is in the military or something like that...I can understand that). I think inductions should be left for emergencies or because you are at a point where you are completely overdue and its damaging to the baby and to your health.
I'm a first time mom so I don't know if this is accurate or not but I can't imagine that you will only have a span of 20 minutes from the time you notice you are ready to pop to the time you deliver. I think that a fair compromise would be that when you start to feel the contractions, he either make his way home or he stays home (assuming its overnight or something).
Nope it is not an option for him to stay close to me. Work is tight and if he were to do ask to stay close then he might lose his job. Which is even more horrible then him missing out ( in some ways ;D )
Yeah I am not to sure I would want to be induced before anyway, I don't want to take her to early either. He also doesn't want me to get an EPI but that is totally my choice LOL
I guess I am just going to have to pray that when I start going into labor; he gets here just in time for her to be born.
*crosses fingers*
If it were me, I wouldn't want him to drive "90mph if need be." The last thing you need while in labor is a phone call that he's in ER (that would suck, I work in an ER and have seen those accidents). Schedule it out if you really want him there for it.
