3rd Trimester

Is anyone worried that they were told the wrong gender?

I know this is crazy but I am so nervous that she will come out a he! I wouldn't be mad that I had a boy at all but all of the clothes, blankets, towels, it's all girly! Her room is pink and purple, the bedding, curtains, lamp, pack and play...EVERYTHING! I cant stop thinking about it! It would suck to have all that girly stuff and then end up having a boy! Is anyone else worried about this?

  • No.

We were VERY sure based on my u/s's.

I think about this at least once a day! We have so much freaking pink, it would be a PITA to return everything. The only things we would be able to keep would be the carseat and the Snap and Go. Everything else is pretty girly.
  • We got a good view of her on the u/s, enough that we are confident it's a girl. I personally am not too worried.

I would also be seriously pissed if they were wrong, though! Her room is all pink and we have so much girly stuff for her!

  • All of the time! I waited until about 22 weeks to find out the gender, but I'm still worried she's a he in there! I have too many girl clothes and cute nursery colors too turn back now!! :)
  • Occasionally I wonder - but I have an u/s today so I will be requesting the tech to double check again!!!
  • I've thought about it but haven't stressed about it. Yeah, we have girly stuff and her room is PINK but I guess we'd just have to make some quick changes!!! ;-)
  • not worried cuz I've gotten u/s's at every appt every 2 weeks.   I always jokingly ask "still a girl?"  and they assure me she is.

  • At 25 weeks I was told boy and then at my 32 week 3D I was told girl so I have no idea what this baby is.
  • I was a tiny bit nervous after our first u/s because we had it done so early (17 weeks), but we've had 2 more since then confirming that she is definitely a girl.  Nope, not nervous at all anymore!

  • I am so scared- I paid to have a 3D u/s done for this reason, and the LO was not cooeprating.

    grrr...

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • not really scared. but my husband's father might be p*ssed since we're naming the baby after him! :)
  • YES, I worry about this often.  My u/s tech was horrible, she rushed us because they had a couple emergencies come in, obviously unscheduled, so our u/s was 2 hours late and she obviously wanted to go home so we felt really rushed.  I'm still debating if I should get a 3d done.

  • I was told "girl" at 20 weeks and "Boy" at 30 weeks... so it really wouldn't surprise me either way.
  • No. I have had 2 sono since the Big u/s. My doctor always shows me the "evidence".

  • I'm not worried.  Well, I think about it an, "oh no, we have so much pink!  What if they were wrong?" sort of way, but I feel pretty confident.

We had our big ultrasound at 19 weeks, and the tech told us she was "very sure" -- and I saw the three little lines.

We had another ultrasound last week, and that tech also confirmed that it was a girl.

  • We have a picture of his little bits... but on the chart they wrote girl. ?I mean we saw his bits twice! ?It has to be a boy in there, but it still makes me a little nervous.

  • I think about this once in awhile. We had an ultrasound done at 20 weeks and another one 3D/4D at 24 weeks and both times we were told girl. My last appointment we were told we would have an ultrasound at 36 weeks to determine if she is head down, so I guess we have one more time to check the sex. It would totally suck if she was a he; considering we have a lot of pink!

  • They were VERY sure that my niece was supposed to be a boy! In her u/s sound pics it looks the an obvious penis, BUT she had her arm behind her, it was a finger, lol. We kept most things neutral and all the cloths except what we would need right away still have their tags on and receipts close by :)
  • One of the benefits of an amnio--regardless of what we saw one the u/s, I know DS has one X and one Y so he's definitely a boy!
  • I've thought about this....but it would be a great story at least!!!

  • I do worry. My U/S was done at 18 weeks on the nose.  The tech said there was "no doubt" he was a boy...even saw what looks like a wee-wee, but sometimes I get that feeling that what if she was wrong?  It would be a hassle with the clothes because SIL gave me three garbage bags full of boy clothes.  I wouldn't have an issue re-converting the nursery as it's very neutral.

This! No worries here either! Otherwise, I probably would be though.

  • Yes, this is one of my worries too!  Th DR. got  a pretty good pic between her legs at the ultra sound, but it was so quick and brief, I keep thinking "what if he just missed it"!!!  Her room is pink and green, and we have had one baby shower with lots of girl stuff.....I would be so busy returning things and buying new stuff if she turned out a boy!

Yes, even though I have a pic of the goods I am still nervous it could have been wrong.

me to.. we got a great pic showing the goods but doc said in the report they said it was a female but there is no way!! But she said they never even put the gender in the report and to go with what the tech said!

  • Oh my goodness, I have such high anxiety about this everyday.  I just want someone to tell me that it's right!  My nursery is majorly pink and I'm just now freaking out for some ridiculous reason!  I want a 3rd tri US, but not sure how to get one...
  • @Manateearmz‌, does it seem like the bumping has been happening a lot lately?

I blame it on the search function working. It's so helpful, but I think some newbies don't understand that a lot of us have the page sorted by most recent.

I wouldn't say that I'm worried, but the thought has crossed my mind that I hope the doctor was right. :)

Not a big deal if he's wrong but I'll have some clothes to give to a little girl somewhere.

I have 3 boys at home and was convinced #4 was going to be a boy too. I didn't believe it when they said she was a girl and continued to think boy until she was born (yesterday at 36 weeks) I feel silly for not believing the million ultrasounds I had, but at the same time, 3 boys, I did not expect a girl at all lol

Edit: just saw this was old :/ that's what I get for not reading the thread closer >:(
