We're considering a delayed/alternative vax schedule and would prefer someone who doesn't jump the gun on antibiotics, so I plan to ask about those things, but what else should I ask?
(PS I'm asking here because the girls on the tri boards scare me...)
Re: BOTB: Meeting a pediatrician today - what to ask?
besides meeting them, I would call the office. Since I live 1.5 hrs away from either of the offices that I might use, I just called and talked to their nursing staff. I got two very different vibes from the office staff. One was very friendly, got me to a nurse right away, was very helpful. The other was going to call me back until they found out I was oot, then they said, "we don't call long distance" (which would be a problem!), and then put me on hold for a long time.
I would also ask about availability of same-day appointments, office hours, who takes messages and returns on-call situations, how many docs in practice (are they board certified in pediatrics), do they provide assistance with nursing.
