So my DH and I are doing a small kitchen remodel- new countertop and sink, leaving the cabinets. However our dishwasher is on the fritz and we are going to replace it, just not sure if we should go stainless steel or white???
We currently have a 2.5 yo white oven with 1 yo white hood and a white microwave. We will also be replacing our fridge this year or next since it is the original fridge we got with the house in bisque!!!
I know some of you just moved into new houses or changed appliances, can you help me decide? Stainless is nice but the price adds up, but since I don't know how I want to remodel our kitchen in a few years (new cabinets and layout), I am stuck with if I should get another white dishwasher, so atleast 3 appliances match right now, before we get the new fridge- or if I should start the switch to stainless.
I know stainless improves the resale value, but I am just thinking practically if things aren't broke, why replace. As you can see I am torn!
thanks for the help and sorry I was rambling!
Re: Stainless Steel or White Appliances
We just built a new house and had the option of SS, white, or black. I love SS but it was pricey and shows a lot of fingerprints/scratches if you're not on top of it. I don't like white, I always think they look dated even if they're new. We went with black and I love it. I think they look elegant but it saved us some $$$. GL and have fun with your remodel.
I am SO over SS appliances and my black granite countertops. I fell in love with the look when we bought our house and now they are the scourge of my existence.
They are so annoying to clean and show everything. We have already decided we are going white in our next house
If you don't plan on selling int he near future, I would definitely go white!

If you are looking at purely for resale value I would go with white since the other appliances are white. You want them to match. If you were replacing all of them then go with SS or black.
I never think about black, but that is a great option. It never looks dated.
Ditto this. We were considering SS, but it's really not very practical imo if you have children/ pets. On top of everything else that was mentioned, I was also afraid of it denting. So we also went with black appliances and are very satisfied with our decision.
We just bought a new house about 3 weeks ago. Our kitchen has stainless steel appliances, and (despite fingerprints) we love them! I am not a fan of white appliances at all.
We have the Whirlpool Gold Series for our range, dishwasher and fridge. I think they are decently priced.
