Hi!
I have taken two digital pg tests (Clear Blue) since I should have gotten my period the very end of May (since Feb it's been starting anywhere in between the 20th-29th of the month). I took one on the 30th, and then I waited until the following Wednesday/Thursday. Both were negative.
I've been off my BCP since end of October last year (going on 8 months).
Could my body just be regulating itself still? I haven't missed a period ever so I was a little freaked out. I still haven't gotten anything..
Thanks!
Re: lurker with a TMI question..
I know when I went off the pill, I was really off up until I got pregnant. My original due date was 12/10/08 based on my LMP, but it ended up being changed to 1/10/09 after an ultrasound, so I was really off.
There are many reasons for a false positive though. Checking the test too late/early, taking it later in the day (first thing in the AM is the best time to test), faulty test, holding in your stream too long/not long enough, tipping the stick while processing....maybe if any of these apply, you are getting false positives. When I found out I was pregnant I took 3 different tests...clear blue, and 2 kids of EPT's...just to make sure!
I got negatives both times. I didn't know if clear blue, or any other digital test, isn't as sensitive as a 'line test'. I don't feel like I'm pregnant and I have no other symptoms...I just didn't know if my tests maybe weren't sensitive enough?! Plus my cycle has been pretty regular since going off the pill. Hmm..
Thanks though Ashley!
For the first 6 months of BCP I was spot on with my period every month. Then the month we decided to start TTC my body went crazy and instead of having regular 29 day cycles I was up to 35 to 38 days.
You may want to start charting to verify when you ovulate because you could ovulate late to any number of reasons.
Good luck! I would just keep testing every other day until you get a positive or AF shows.
It's possible your ovualation date is changing. The longer I was off the pill, the longer and longer my cycles got until I went 60 days with no period. I had to have it induced by taking progesterone pills.
You may want to look into charting because there is no real way to know if you are truly "late" or not unless you know the exact date you ovulated and what your regular luteal phase is.
Good luck!!
