being out of breath

For my fellow workout mamma's have you noticed you get out of breath a lot faster now? I just went swimming-did three laps and was huffing and puffing! (I would do a lap, breathe, lap breathe after that) and walking up hills sucks. I read this is normal but I work out so much I was hoping it wouldn't be true!

Re: being out of breath

  • Same for me. Walking stairs or large stores is out of the question unless I can sit for a few minutes. I am not even big yet!

Yep, I run (and ran pre-preg) and I have to take several walk breaks due to breathing. But, it has gotten better. I think it was the worst until about 16 or 17 weeks, now it is a little better, but I think it will get worse again when the baby starts to get into your ribs and lungs.

  • I walk around my house and am out of breath ..but I also look like what I looked like at 8 months with my son I feel ..i am so huge!
  • I have noticed it.  I went for a bike ride with my husband this weekend and I thought I was getting out of breath really quickly.  I noticed it walking up steps and hills too.
  • Yep- I can only do about half of my regular yardage when I swim. Its different then just getting out-of-shape for an injury or something. My body just CAN'T do anymore! Weird.
  • Sucks!  I feel soooo out of shape!
