How did you get rid of your belly pooch?

Ok, 2 kids in 2 years has just not been kind to my midsection.  I've lost all the weight from both PGs, and I look fine in clothes/all my old clothes fit, but there is some loose skin/a pooch there that wasn't before.  I'm not sure how to get rid of it since general exercising/eating healthy doesn't seem to be working.  Any specific ab exercise recs?  How much?  How often?

  • I did WW and it made it go away..until I got PG again! I'm looking forward to joining it again and hope it works as well after 3 kids!! Good luck!

Too busy to update the pics for now ... :)

  • Wish I knew.  I still have it.  I know a few moms who got rid of it, but didn't really do much to get rid of it, and others who tried like hell but never could.
  • Sumner, that's what I'm afraid of :(  I'm naturally pretty skinny, and I'm skinny again, but this pooch is hanging around no matter what I do!
  • My sister has 3 kids and had the pooch for a long time, even though she was pretty skinny. I would say in the last 5 years though, it's hardly there anymore. Her youngest is now 13, so my guess is that as long as you're in relatively good shape and eat well, it will gradually get better in time? At least that's what I'm hoping.
  • Have you tried pilates??

  • I'd love to do pilates, and I've tried doing a dvd, but I think I need an instructor and/or the equipment to do it correctly.  I never feel like I'm "getting it" with the dvd...Bubbly, do you have a good one?  I can't make it to a class with any regularity so dvds/stuff I can do at home is a must.  Thanks :)
  • I have a couple of DVDs that I like.  My favorite one is a 10 Minute Rapid Results Pilates.  It's divided into 10 minute work-outs that focus on one particular area of the body (abs, legs/butt, arms, total body) in each session.  If you're pushed for time you can only do one or two, or you can do all of them.

It's very easy to follow, the instructor is pretty thorough with her instructions.

I would love to actually do a class, but the way my schedule is it's hard.

  • Planks!!! Co18 swears by them and I do them in my pilates class as well as at home.

I feel the burn like mad after one minute and it takes a bajiliion crunches or situps to feel that same burn.
