Remember how I called on Friday and left a message politely informing my RE that since they got me pregnant back in November and shooed me out the door I've had 2 miscarriages? Well, they didn't call me back that day, so I figured they were going to ignore me.
I got a call about 15 minutes ago from the nurse whom I loved when I was going there. She was beyond nice and apologetic about the oversight in cutting me loose too soon. I flat out asked her, "If I come back to your office, will you monitor me properly during treatment and if I get pregnant again?" She assured me I would not fall through the cracks.
Then she asked what our current plans were, and I explained about being with the OBGYN and her saying she'd run some RPL panels in mid-July. My OBGYN always refers her IF patients to this RE and this RE is the one who referred me to that OBGYN, so they know each other's practices well, and the RE nurse said, well the way your doctor will run the loss panels wouldn't be as thorough as if we ran them and they won't be done in-house there, so if you want to come in here and get them done (which will be in-house), we can do that right away.
Since this means getting the tests run, and hopefully some answers, more than a month sooner, even though I'm nervous about going back to the RE's office that so badly screwed me over in the fall, we decided to go ahead with it. This time I know to be a strong advocate for monitoring, etc with them, and I won't let myself slip through the cracks. I'm 8 months and 2 losses wiser now -- they'll probably wish they hadn't told me to come on back lol.
So I'm having a meeting with the RE and the RPL bloodwork done on Wednesday afternoon. I'm so.freaking.excited.
Re: well, that paid off (long, RE ment)
Good for you! You have to advocate for yourself. I'm glad the nurse is being so accomodating - hopefully they've realized how much they screwed up in terms of your care. I hope you get some answers soon from the RPL panel.
What Nikki said.
I'm very happy that this worked.
The fact that they called back could mean that it is worth the second try.
Good Luck with everything!
