Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Moms of babies with short fat feet, I need your help!

My dd has the smallest feet.  She's 10 months and she measures a size 3 still.  However--they are so thick that I cannot find shoes to fit her.  Anyone have the same issue?  What shoes did you end up getting that work?

  • DS was the same way. He still is now...even though they've gotten longer. We've only had success with Stride Rite and fake crocs (what he wears almost all the time around the house).

Have you tried pedipeds?  Both my kids have wide feet & pedipeds fit them perfectly when they were that age.

ETA: Ditto the pp about Stride Rite -- they carry more styles in wide widths then any place else.

Ditto to Stride Rite. He wears a 4 wide and they fit great. We just got him some crocs and those are a great fit as well, but don't think they are a good idea for early walkers.

  • I'm having a thickness issue, not so much a wide issue, kwim?  I'll have to see if anything at Stride Rite will work for her.
  • I hear ya about the thickness issue- DS has more of a chubby instep than a wide foot, but they still fit great. Up until we needed walking shoes, we used the target Robeez and those were great too.

She's right. The Stride Rite wides worked perfectly, even though his foot was thick and not wide. We also used Robeez before he was walking.

  • Have you tried Riley Roos? They're supposed to work for chubbier feet.
