I think I have an extra tooth

It's coming in behind my wisdom tooth. I never had them removed because they never bothered me, but this thing is VERY painful. Is it even possible?

    Hmmm....  I'd imagine it's possible.  You'll have to tell us if that is what it ends up being....  How old are you?  I believe there are some teeth that can come in late teens/early 20's.

    when my sister was younger one of her teeth more to the front became loose but never fell out.... the new one came in though, the dentist pulled it and 2 more came in. He said it is actually more normal than you would think for someone to have an extra tooth or 2

    I'm 26.

    I need to get to the Dentist, but this is my last week of school and I can't  miss giving my finals and putting in grades. I hope it can hold out. Next week is DS's bday and our 3 year anniversary. Agh! I don't want "major" oral surgery right now. I know... it's not major, but I'm a sissy when it comes to needles.

    Are you sure your wisdom tooth is the last tooth you had come in, or just another molar?  I got my last molars at 20.  My wisdoms are still there though.  One is kinda peeking through but that's all.

    Time to get to a dentist!

    ^^ I was going to ask the same thing - have you definitely got your wisdom teeth in? Mine have never come in (well one did and had to be pulled) and I'm 28 so maybe it's just a later comer?

    I'm pretty sure. The last tooth besides the one that's coming currently came in while I was pg so early last year. The last I was at the dentist (Oct) they said my wisdom tooth had come in there.
