For those of you who received diaper cakes...

And even those who didn't...

Did you/would you take the cake apart. 

I really plan on taking it apart... but the diaper cakes look so nice I really don't WANT to.  But if I don't the diapers will just go to waste, and I won't get to use all the "goodies" the guests put in the cakes.

    I did because I heard somewhere that the diapers got bad somehow. Not exactly sure how, I just remember hearing that. Also the diapers were all rolled up still even after I took them apart now they are flat after being put away.?

    I took it apart right away after pics. There were toys and spoons that I wanted to wash and use and of course the diapers!! There was over 100 on there!!

    My MIL is apparently going to attempt to make one for me. I will take that thing home, and put a sledge hammer to it in the comfort of my office. Because if I have to hear one more freaking time that she's taking SO much time to make me this uhmazing diaper cake, I'm thinking about leaving FI because his mother will drive me insane.

    So maybe I should take it apart now.... I was thinking I would wait until LO is born, that way I could "enjoy" looking at the cakes a little longer.  One of the cakes is made with NB diapers so I wouldn't have long to use the diapers.

    I felt bad taking it apart, so for know it?s on the baby?s dresser. But I will take it apart eventually because if not everything inside will be a waste.

    I'm sure people put a lot of love and thought into making them, however I find them terrible looking. Almost as scary as diaper babies.

    I immediately took mine apart and organized the diapers in it (I had two cakes from two showers and one had NB and one had size one) into drawers laid out flat.  I also washed all the "goodies" in it and put them away.  It never crossed  my mind to keep them!!  I just thought of them as "gifts" as well.  And like PP said, there was over 200 diapers on those things!

    I took it apart to use the diapers.  Since she went thru all that trouble I figured I might as well get some good use out of it.

    I've never had one, but I would defiantly take it apart after I took a picture of it. You'll need those diapers!

    I admired ours for a week or so, then DH took it apart and flattened the diapers.  And we took pictures of it.

    I made one for a friend and I would have been offended if she DID NOT take it apart. Of course you should take it apart. that is why they put all the cute stuff on it and the diapers are usable.
